REPRODUCTIVE FREEDOM & FERTILITY CARE ACCESS
Elizabeth became a mother through both adoption and IVF. She knows the emotional toll, the financial burden, and the joy of finally holding your child. She also knows what it's like to navigate a healthcare system that treats family-building as a luxury instead of a fundamental human desire.
As an American Society for Reproductive Medicine Policy Fellow and Arizona State Chair for Reproductive Freedom for All, Elizabeth is already leading this fight. In Congress, she'll take it nationwide.
What Elizabeth Will Do:
Codify Roe v. Wade into Federal Law
Restore nationwide abortion access without state-by-state restrictions
Protect access to medication abortion (mifepristone and misoprostol)
Ensure that women facing pregnancy complications get the emergency care they need
Why it matters: Women are suffering in hospital parking lots waiting for help from doctors who are afraid of facing legal consequences for providing care. This is unacceptable.
Protect and Expand IVF Access
Pass federal legislation protecting IVF from state-level attacks
Require insurance coverage for fertility treatments (currently only 20 states mandate it)
Expand the Adoption Tax Credit to help families like Elizabeth's
Create grants for low-income families pursuing fertility care
Why it matters: Elizabeth has sat with countless people who went through multiple rounds of IVF just to have a family. She knows the $15,000-$30,000 per cycle cost puts family-building out of reach for most Americans. That's wrong.
Comprehensive Sex Education and Contraception Access
Fund evidence-based sex education in schools
Ensure free contraception access through the ACA
Protect access to emergency contraception
Why it matters: Preventing unintended pregnancies reduces abortion rates. It's common sense.
Maternal Health Equity
Address Black maternal mortality crisis (Black women are 3x more likely to die from pregnancy complications)
Extend Medicaid postpartum coverage to 12 months nationwide
Increase funding for doula services and midwifery care
Require implicit bias training for all maternal healthcare providers
Why it matters: As a labor and delivery and fertility nurse, Elizabeth has seen the disparities firsthand. Every mother deserves to survive childbirth.
End the Gag Rule on Title X Clinics
Restore federal funding for family planning clinics
Ensure low-income women have access to cancer screenings, STI testing, and contraception
Why it matters: Planned Parenthood provides 40% of America's Title X services. Defunding them doesn't stop abortions—it stops cancer screenings.
