ELIZABETH BELIEVES

PRO-FAMILY MEANS ALL FAMILIES

Strong families are the foundation of strong communities, but families in Arizona do not all look the same, and they shouldn’t have to. Families can be married couples, single parents, grandparents raising grandchildren, adoptive and foster families, military families, blended families, and LGBTQ+ families. What matters is not structure, but whether families are supported, respected, and given the opportunity to thrive. Elizabeth’s own journey to motherhood includes adoption and IVF, giving her a deeply personal understanding that family building is not always simple or traditional. She knows families need stability, opportunity, and support, not judgment. Being pro-family means ensuring access to healthcare, safe housing, quality public schools, and communities where every child and parent can feel secure and valued.

What Elizabeth Will Do

Protect Equal Rights Under Federal Law
  • Support and vote for legislation like the Equality Act to protect against discrimination in healthcare, housing, employment, education, and public life

  • Ensure federal protections are consistently enforced across all states

Why it matters: Equal protection under the law is foundational. No family should face discrimination because of who they are.

Defend Access to Evidence-Based Healthcare
  • Protect access to medically necessary, evidence-based care including gender-affirming care, mental health services, and reproductive healthcare

  • Oppose political interference in clinical decision-making

Why it matters: Healthcare decisions belong to patients and providers. Denying care leads to worse outcomes and preventable harm.

Keep Politicians Out of Families’ Private Decisions
  • Oppose efforts to criminalize parents, providers, or patients making personal healthcare decisions

  • Protect the integrity of the patient-provider relationship

Why it matters: Families, not government, should make deeply personal medical decisions.

Ensure Safe and Inclusive Schools
  • Support policies that prevent bullying, harassment, and discrimination against LGBTQ+ students

  • Promote inclusive, affirming learning environments

Why it matters: Students cannot succeed if they do not feel safe. Safe schools improve outcomes for every child.

Support LGBTQ+ Youth Experiencing Homelessness
  • Invest in targeted housing and support programs for LGBTQ+ youth

  • Expand access to healthcare and social services

Why it matters: No child should face homelessness because of who they are. Early support changes life trajectories.

Protect Families in All Their Forms
  • Defend marriage equality and parental rights

  • Ensure legal recognition and protections for all family structures

Why it matters: Legal protections provide stability, security, and opportunity for families and children.

Address Mental Health and Suicide Risk
  • Expand access to mental health care and crisis intervention services

  • Increase funding for youth-focused behavioral health programs

Why it matters: LGBTQ+ youth face higher rates of depression and suicide. Access to care saves lives.

Hold Systems Accountable
  • Strengthen oversight and enforcement of federal protections

  • Require transparency and accountability in how protections are implemented

Why it matters: Rights without enforcement are meaningless. Accountability ensures real protection for real people.
